Yes, if Manny Ramirez is on your team. But if you have several ballplayers making 5-7 million a year, by the time you insure all of them, you will pay out in premiums and deductibles an amount equal to possibly two season ending injuries.
The math does not make sense to insure you ballplayers if you don't have a primma donna player/salary on your team.
Perhaps that's why Nagy and Fryman didn't "retire", the Indians would have had to pick up their salary anyway.
Any thoughts anyone?
